My thanks to everyone who has stayed with this blog through an unplanned hiatus due to major surgery and subsequent rehab. As my recovery of mobility, skills, (and wits!) allows, I plan to continue blogging about dogs, cats, writing, books, and life as it happens. I’ll also share reviews and information about books and authors you may find interesting.
Open Invitation: If you’re a writer, reader, and/or dog trainer (self-taught or pro), interested in contributing to this blog, you’re welcome to submit articles, how-to posts and blog-related content for possible inclusion here. (In particular, I’d love to see how-to strategies for accommodating different physical abilities while handling/training a rambunctious puppy!)
Submissions should be about 350-500 words; photographs, images, and links to related resources welcome. You must be the copyright holder (or have verifiable permission to use) all content submitted; no ghost-written or AI-generated written material accepted. Submissions are subject to editorial review, revision, and refusal at my discretion. If interested, send your submissions or questions to dogmysteries [at] gmail [dot] com.

In the meantime, congratulations to all the finalists in the Dog Writers Association of America’s Annual Writing Competition. Click here to see the full list of finalists and learn more about these talented writers. Winners will be announced February 8th at the DWAA Awards Banquet in New York City.
I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with health issues. Here’s to a continued good recovery and sending healing vibes!
Thank you Kathleen. Much appreciated!
I hope you’re feeling better and better every day!
Thanks, Dawn. I’d like to say I do feel better every day, but that would be stretching the truth (at least for now). I’m discovering that recovering from hip surgery isn’t a straightforward “Do this and this and you’re back to normal” sort of journey. Interesting times!
